Paint Party Friday - Bits and Pieces

Hi, sorry to have missed entering into the last PPF, but things were pretty hectic here with families, which did not leave a lot of art time.  But am pleased to have finished quite a large canvas, least I think its finished.....who knows..........

20'' x 8''
Painted in Acrylics with brushes and palette knife
Sorry about the quality of the photograph but had great difficulty getting it all in the picture.
Looking it at here on the blog can see I need to tighten the whole thing up and add more shading into it.

Next am showing a painting worked in watercolours, not my favourite medium but keep trying with it.

At least it looks like a bird..............lol

The following is a medium sized canvas 12" x 10" which as you can see is only at the bare bones stage....

Wish I could just slap on the paint and see what evolves, but its not to be, always have to have a plan.

Thank you for calling in and wish you a Happy Weekend and may the sunny weather continue.  Hugs Annette x

Mix it Monthly

Hi, Happy New Year to all.   Conny over at Mix it Monthly has chosen Odd Hats for the challenge this month.  Its just what I needed as my brain is on a go slow at the moment and inspiration is thin on the ground.

Leading in the fashion stakes we have Olivia the Ostrich  desporting her latest headwear made of orange felt and white fresh flowers.............I like the bow as well Olivia........

Next we have Cecilia proudly showing us her Birthday Cake Hat.  Watch those flames Cecilia..................

'oops she looks a little worried about those flames

The colours Conny chose for the challenge were - Orange, Violet and Hibiskus, unfortunately the photograph is showing blue rather than Violet.............

I have so many journals and lots of themes get mixed up, so have dedicated the one below just for Mix it Monthly challenges, so the above two will be popped into it.

Am including these offerings into the pot for Paint Party Friday as well.   Before I go, would like to show you my new Owl, made of wood, steel and glass, he is such a cutie.

Sorry about the long post and thank you for staying with me.  Have a terrific weekend and take care of yourselves, hugs Annette x

Before and After OR After and Before !!

Hi, am starting with the After.....................and then tell you all about it.................

the story is, a fortnight ago in Art Class we had to do quick watercolour sketch of a picture of our choice

This is it......

and then we were given an artist to do it in the style of...............mine was Klimt......

This is what I started with..........

Pencil and Texture Paste

added the Acrylics and a Gold Signo pen and ended up with this

the tricky bit was painting the Texture Paste............why is it your hand shakes over the tricky bits.........

Its been a good week craft and artwise  and got a lot done..........woo hoo, but the weather has been a no no, cloud and rain every day...........We missed out on Spring, hope we don't miss out on Summer as my poor old body needs some sunshine..

Thank you for visiting me, take care of yourselves, wishing you a lovely weekend, Happy PPF to the PPF'ers.  Hugs Annette xx

Brigadoon and Going your own Way.... for Paint Party Friday

Hi,  haven't done very much painting that can show at Paint Party Friday this week as most of it is works in progress, but am showing a page from my art practice book.  She started off as the Mona Lisa but turned into Fiona from the musical Brigadoon.........a village in Scotland which only appears 1 day in a hundred years.....

Acrylics

as I was painting her the tunes of this musical kept going round in my head.......so instead of Mona we now have Fiona...........

Also would like to show you a page that was blobbed with watercolours..........for those of you who don't know this is a technical expression..........lol

Drew a fish then used it as a stencil.  Added the words and framed it digitally.  This is a question I often ask myself.

Am off to Art class in the morning so will catch up with you later in the day.  Thank you for popping in and wishing you a terrific weekend.  Hugs Annette xx

PPF is here again...........

Hi, thank you for following me in my Art Adventures, thought I would end up as Billy No mates and am thrilled to see so many of you here.

Yay she is complete - I think............  Since last week I have made a few adjustments and muted the tones so it was less in your face so to speak. (have shown how it was last week below this photo)

Waterbased Oils
How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face.
W.B Yeats

This is where I was at last week

An update of my Art Class last week.  Because had missed the Watercolour and ink lesson, I asked if I could get up to date with that...........no probs she said and gave me a Welly Boot.............

Watercolours and Ink
A total disaster, could have done with a wider brush instead of the skinny one had taken with me.  Note to self.............take a bigger selection of brushes.............obviously I don't have an affinity with watercolours..... and am rubbish at still life...............lol

Watercolours

Anyways here is another one I did at home, it was supposed to be my husband with a bit of a twist........he said its nothing like me................of course it isn't I said, am using artistic licence..............well that got him.....lol

Am scheduling this post as will be at Art Class this morning, this time doing a small canvas with real oils....wow, another first for me.  Loving this class and have already enrolled for the next term.

Life is a bit hectic at the moment with Mum's and Husband's hospital appointments plus trying to get gifts made and ready for Christmas, you know the sort of thing, we all have similar problems and for some its a lot worse, so am thankful I get a little time to play.  Later will be heading over to Paint Party Friday to see all those wonderful artists and also to see my other blogging friends fab work.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend, and thank you for popping in to see my efforts.
Take care, hugs Annette x
