A Bit of a Mish Mash......

Hi, its so freezing cold here in Northamptonshire, minus 3 in the day and minus 8 at night and that was yesterday.........brrrrr   Made a huge Cottage Pie to last us a couple of days, this is pure comfort food for these wintry days.

Woman in a Hat - Modigliani style
At the end of last terms Art Class I couldn't show you my final painting as it wasn't dry and then when it was I promptly forgot about it.  Here she is finished............(water mixable oils)

Yep had to frame her...........couldn't resist.....lol
Have also been playing with water colours

Mother - Daughter and Grand-daughter

This painting I've called  'Through the Eyes of a Child '.......

Our first day back at Art Class last week we were presented with musical instruments to draw, hells bells never drawn anything like this before and it certainly shows.................lol

Ink Pens, Pastels and Felt Tip
Am sure you can spot all the mistakes.............showed my husband when I got home and he said mmmmmm have seen you draw better.................so tactful...............lol

Could show you loads more as have been painting like a mad woman, but will keep them for another week and spare you the trauma of looking at them today.................

Thanking you for your fabulous support with my art adventures and thank you for following me.  Looking forward to seeing some of you at Paint Party Friday and also your terrific creative blogs.  Take care of yourselves, wrap up warm and have a goodly weekend, hugs Annette xx

You put a smile on my face with your comments on your art. It is good to be able to see once work from a humorous point of view sometimes!

Your lady with hat turned out very beautiful!
And I like the title to your instrument painting :-)

Netty...I love your finished oil painting. She is lovely. I also love how you've framed her! Definitely museum worthy! :) The through the eyes of a child painting is lovely, too. Love how you only finished the eyes of the child. :) And your musical instruments piece. I like it! What do men know? haha And yes, they can be so tactful! I hope that you continue to much on the cottage pie and stay warm! Thanks for the lovely comments you've left on my blog as well. I always love hearing from you! <3 Candy

The redhead is stunning - Toulouse-Lautrec is joining Modigliani in my frame of reference for your work! And I absolutely love the watercolour - that will stay with me.

Really like your painting....spot of genius with the framing I'd say :)

Your painting looks great! The overall composition is so good, and her face is really pretty. Drawing is hard work, I think. It takes a lot of practice to get really good at it, and still some subjects will be harder to draw than others. The practice is always good, though.

Leovi said...

Yes, I like that beautiful Modigliani portrait style you it looks great, congratulations!

Faye said...

Netty, your painting of the 3 generations is fantastic. Love all that golden red hair. And your Modigliani. How could you possibly forget her??? She's beautiful. About your musical instrument, I found I am no good with "things". I tried to draw my tape roller and it looked evil when I finished. So I am sticking to women's faces and flowers, I think. Aren't men the most tactful things? NOT! I quit showing the dh my stuff. I usually just got an "OK". No other comment. Thanks for your good wishes for my knee. I think it will be all right in time. I hurt it moving furniture.

Beautiful work Netty. She's beautiful. I'll have to look up "Cottage Pie" as I don't know what it is. Hold on please....ah huh..

UK. dish of ground beef and mashed potato: a baked dish made from ground meat in gravy with a topping of mashed potato

...and would you believe I am making that today as well but just a little different. Awesome!:)

Love that redhead in the hat! I can imagine her taking off for Paris in the 20's to make it on her own. Your portraits just keep developing more and more style and character. It's fantastic to watch.

More great work Miss Netty. Have to ask, "how do you like water soluble oils and do they smell?' I had to give up oil painting years ago as I developed an allergy to the smell, leaving a strange taste in my throat, I miss it.

It's so much fun to see your art up in the "gallery!" That was almost better than the wall art!

Okay, we have instruments all over this house, and now you've inspired me to actually draw one--
why that never occurred to me before is a mystery, since they're seriously all over everywhere.

:)
