Disastrous Fun

Hi, have been having some fun with my artistic attempts this week.  First going back to using Water Mixable Oils, which am still struggling with, especially waiting for the layers to dry before I can paint over them again.........patience is severely lacking...........hence this painting is neither dry or finished......

Followed with another painting, this time in Acrylics which wouldn't go my way, but am showing it despite itself.

Bird Talk

The following pages are from my Art Journal which will be going into the Art Journal Journey Challenge this month and for Paint Party Friday.

Alone with my Thoughts

then changed it via a free digital progamme to black and white just to see the change in the atmosphere of the page...............

Quite a few disasters, but great fun at the same time.  You have to see joy in the disasters, at least thats what I tell myself.............so it must be true..............lol

Wishing you a lovely week, despite the horrible weather we are having at the moment.  The forecasters say we are in for a mini heatwave by the end of the week...........yay bring it on.........  Take care of yourselves, hugs Annette xx

I love that even when you are not satisfied with a piece you still share your experiments. I really love that colourful journal page and isn't it interesting what a digital colour change can do!!! Zoom straight into a winter wonderland with a snowy feel. Great selection of work this week anette !

Super forest art, Netty, I love the first, high up on the swing, and the second one looks so dramatic in black and white, I must try that.
Loved seeing your other pictures too, you are so good at trying different techniques.

One would never know you had problems. Love all your work Annette! I've never used water mixable oils, but I hear they behave the same as traditional oils...yes you have to allow the layers to dry. Bummer, I know. Your journal pages are so vibrant! Very nice.

LOVE your paintings. I don't know why you think they are disasters. I know when I don't like my work I think their're disasters, so I am assuming that is the case. And your journal pages look like finished paintings themselves. Hope you put them onto canvas sometime.

I think everything is wonderful. As for oil paints or anything that takes long to dry I am way to impatient for that! I like Bird Talk also however I know there are things I have create that I cannot stand and someone else likes. I guess that is the beauty of art, everyone sees things differently. Hope you had a wonderful PPF! Enjoy the weekend. Hugs, Rasz #56

Waiting layers to dry is difficult for me too. This week I've cut papers smaller and just painted, trying to learn how the paper behaves...
I can't see anything wrong with your works - you know how to play with colors!

I adore your not so dry painting--she is so soft and lovely. I especially loved the Bird Talk. I talk to the birds outside all the time, just like my Daddy did. He was a true "birdman." Your artwork is so wonderfully imaginative and unique.

Nothing that looks like a disaster here in what you've created Netty!
The forest you created for the two people is so original and WOW and quite striking in both color ways you chose.
We are very wet and windy here on the east coast (Virginia) too.
