Sweet Beth

Hi, its still very cold here in Northamptonshire and we had snow again yesterday, plus freezing fog......oooh roll on the Spring..........

'Sweet Beth' was drawn and painted  in one of my practice art books with Acrylics.

Devotion is a heavy cross,
but you are lovely and direct;
the mystery of your attractions
is powerful as the key of life
(Boris Pasternak (1890-1960)
Of course I had to play with her didn't I...................

and again..........

Last week at Art class we took random words and had to choose how to paint their meaning.......colours and abstract shapes.  Then we placed our paintings on the table and muddled the words up and tried to guess from each others paintings the correct word...............mmmmm  the tutor told us her other class this week scored very highly, (if memory serves me right she said 95% success)  'oops our class didn't even get 50% of them, methinks that class cheated, don't you.............lol

This Friday we are painting petals and leaves................cripes that means flowers and am hopeless at flowers and avoid them like the plague, so had better get practicing before tomorrow...........

Have a great weekend everyone and all at Paint Party Friday.  Take care, hugs Annette xx

Netty, she's lovely. She looks so sad, definitely carrying a heavy cross. Obviously the other class cheated or they had really really easy words, like blue, red, yellow. Am sure you'll have the hang of those petals in no time. We have had rain rain and more rain here. I would rather the rain than the snow. Unless it's enough snow to stay home... :) ps...amazing what you find in teacups these days..

Nope leaves can mean trees, or cups of tea, or the leaves of a wonderful book. So many things. Thank you so much for visiting my blog.

She is lovely and she looks so great on that pillow! Painting the meaning of random words ... phew ... way too abstract for me. That other class must've cheated surely ;-) Good luck with your flowers! they're not my favorite either ...(at least not to paint)

It's amazing to see the painting in different manifestations. Perhaps you can think of your flowers as faces and make portraits of them. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Good Lord Annette!! Am I the last one to leave a comment!!!!! Your painting reminds me of the Middle Ages - you really are so talented and it is a joy to follow you --- I wonder how many creative ways I can come up with saying that. Besides the point -- my fingers hurt after scrolling down so far to leave you a comment. You have quite a fan following my dear heart!!
