After all the excitement last week of celebrating the start of PPF's 4th Year and all the wonderful artists who took part and their work as usual was fab. Was not sure what to show today, but decided to show a page from my large Art Journal.
The page is made up of Acrylics and Paper Napkins. The lady is from a hairdressing magazine which I painted over to give her a new look.
On the easel at the moment is a large canvas which am working on (similar to one of my 29 Faces), the big problem am finding is thats its a recycled heavily textured canvas which makes drawing and painting on quite difficult. But will keep trying.
Wishing you a lovely weekend and take care of yourselves, Hugs Annette x

I'm sure it will be worth the trouble as you can see the underlying texture giving some amazing results :)
Take care

Beautiful work Netty! Hugs, valerie
Such a pretty art journal page, and I like the look of the textured canvas too!
Both of these are beautiful Annette! ~Diane
GORGEOUS projects! Love love love the page! So feminine and beautiful!
Good Morning - but I do believe it is afternoon where you are. Love your journal page. I have never worked with napkins before but I want to. The lady looks like Twiggy but with dark hair.
Your painting is fabulous - so much love shines through.

These are fabulous Annette!!

Annette, your journal pages are always so cool!! Love this one. I have trouble with textured canvases a lot myself. Have you tried applying a couple of coats of gesso to your canvas before painting? xoxo Have a great weekend.
Both gorgeous creations!
love both, texture can be a pain, but keep at it it will be worth it.
I really love that journalpage. I need to find some hairdressingmagazines, love that hairdo on the girl. And your painting is coming along great. It can be hard on textured canvas, depending on how "clean" you want your images to be ....
Love your amazing works! The journal is very beautifull. And the canvas is original and fabulous.
Gorgeous! Love her face. :)
Beautiful art journal page! Happy PPF!
Both are lovely. Happy PPF x
They are both looking great Netty, I love the yellow bright colorful long hair and the feel and flow of your canvas picture!
Great work Netty! great journal pages. Happy PPF!
Your pieces are lovely. Happy PPF to you!
Netty, your collage with the paper napkin and lady from the magazine is really pretty. I love the way you designed the page. And your beautiful canvas painting is so nice. I think some textured canvases are very difficult to navigate.
fabulous art Netty! I'm going to have to try painting over a magazine face sometime. Looks like fun!
paper napkins and magazine faces- you are so super resourceful and creative! I love it.
Beautiful make over! and love the napkin background as well, gives it a lot of depth.
hugs xoxo

Your girls look so confident!

Wonderful art work Netty. Everything you do is surprising and original. Happy PPF
I love all the experimenting you've been doing with collage. It's beautiful and it looks like so much fun. Blessings!
Beautiful work!
Smiles, Saskia :)
She looks so jazzy, quite a flapper in your art journal page!
Recycling is good and it challenges, you never know what will born when working with that kind of texture!
both of these are great. i especially like the collage work on the first one … so nice!
Beautiful work! Specially, I like the first. See you soon.
Very pretty journal page! Lovely work on both art pieces :)
Gorgeous creations, Netty. Love your beautiful painting :)

Beautiful as always, Netty!! I can't wait to see what you do with the large canvas. :)
Both are very nice, Netty. Funny coincidence..I just picked up a large used canvas with paint splattered over the whole thing. A challenge but I think I will gesso over it and go with the textures already there. Have a lovely week. ~~irene #66
Beautiful journal page and the canvas looks promising too. Good luck!
Gorgeous work Netty! LOVE that girl from the hair dressing magazine what a great idea! :)
Your journal is wonderful. These are fun and keep me thinking. The large canvas is beautiful and unique. Blessings, Janet PPF
Beautiful journal page, Netty, and I really like your new painting. Wonderful colors, and the texture looks great as well.
Love your journal, actually I love all your art dear Netty. Happy PPF.
Hi Netty! Oooh, I love your journal page! The paint over treatment you gave your girl is just gorgeous - and I love the pictures of you on the body in the post below too. Thanks for all of your patience with me as I went through my computer troubles :) xoxo
I remember the 29 faces version of this tender painting, and it is making a lovely canvas in spite of your difficulties with the texture. The paint-over lady is a great page, with the strength of the confident girl contrasting so well with the delicate colouring of the roses and background. Lovely work Netty. And your visits to me are always appreciated.
The page is fab - she's so striking and works beautifully with all those roses. And I love that you are revisiting the beautiful hair woman!! Since I'm a texture-junkie, I'm only going to love the effects of the underlying texture!

Wonderful! I agree - sometimes heavily textured surfaces make the portrait painting harder! But I love those kinds of surfaces for landscapes! Happy PPF!
Luv the facial expressions.

LOVE the painting, and agree with all above, that the texture behind it adds to it.
Your canvas looks amazing so far! so go on painting :) the girl from the magazin is an eyecatcher for sure :D
