Paint Party Friday - all works in Progress

Hi, welcome to my new blog.........thought I had better create a new one for my artwork, hope you will follow me here.

Am showing all WIP's today for Paint Party Friday

Still Not Finished

This is how she was last Friday

Loads of work yet to do on my lady at the Opera

Sketch on Canvas, waiting to be painted
Apart from the sketch I used waterbased oils on both the above paintings, so different from my usual acrylics, they are creamier and take longer to dry, for instance I have paint blobs on my palettes from 4 days ago and they are still soft, so its far less wasteful.

Yep there is still a lot to do on the paintings, but am not rushing it, just enjoying the experience.

Mum went for her pre-op interview yesterday and we took her to physio afterwards so am scheduling this post as will be in Art Class this morning, but will be back later in the afternoon to catch up with everyone.

Thank you for visiting my new blog, take care of yourselves and hope you have a lovely weekend,
Hugs Annette xx

Beautiful work. I love the soft, rich colors in the first piece. I still haven't tried water-based oil paints, but it sounds like they have some real advantages. I hate wasting paint!

Wow, your "not yet finished" paintings look so good to me already.
As a draw quick as I go artist it's amazing to me what it really takes to make a real painting! I am impressed. HPPF! Hope all goes well for your mom too.

Good luck in your new venture!! I think they look great and can't wait to see them finished. Nothing wrong with waiting, this way work won't get in the way! I have a whole list of new things to learn, once I get there too! LOL!

I have never worked with waterbased oils so far, I'm a bit scared of it. And I don't want to spend more money... But it would be very interesting. Perhaps one day. I like your paintings, it's always so interesting so see WIPs and how they develop. Good luck with your new blog, I'm following it.

Nettie, your portraits are all very lovely...and very much Modigliani alike, love them.

Good grief Nettie, your boot does not look bad, it looks like you planned to make the colors sketchy like that. . and the boot itself, I see nothing wrong with it. Like me and my art or writing, I always hate it, after awhile it looks better. Your art is wonderful. Loving all of it, especially the gal waiting to be painted. Blessings, Janet PPF
