This is how it originally started out in June with its first layers

.....................................................................................................................................................

Then I drew another Frida, this time in an abstract style with pens and oil pastels on copy paper, for Art Journal Journey.

Made a tag with a origami dress as an experiment..............

and have started a new canvas, this time much smaller - 10" x 12"

I will be submitting all these works to Paint Party Friday
Thats been my week on the art and crafts front.  Thank you again for all your loving support and kind words. Wishing you a very happy and healthy week.  Hugs Annette xx

Fairy Frida......worked in coloured pencils and gold gel pen.

and one thats NOT Frida...........worked in oil pastels and liquid pearls

The top and the bottom pages can be entered into the Mix it Monthly Challenge this month which is Crazy Dresses, although they look quite normal to me and all of the Frida's can go into the Art Journal Journey Challenge.  Also my entry for Paint Party Friday.

Frida Kahlo - Art Journal Journey

Hi, after my Mother's death I haven't really felt like doing much and to tell you the truth have felt rather anti-social which isn't like me.  Drawing strength from my family has been helpful with the healing, especially from my youngest daughter Wendy who has been an absolute rock.  We laughed and cried together.  In the midst of all this I had my hair chopped off, which was strangely liberating to have very short hair (for the first time ever).  Good news is,  have now been signed off by both my consultants and my summer cold has almost gone........so onwards and upwards.....

Art Journal Journey subject this month is Frida Kahlo chosen by Valerie-Jael whom many of you know.

Worked in Oil Pastels and coloured pencils

Worded in Oil Pastels and highlighted with Pic Monkey
Two very different interpretations of Frida Kahlo, reflecting the good and hard times this artist suffered.

Will show these pages at Paint Party Friday also.

I hope you like these interpretations and thank you so much for sticking by me.  Will be popping by your blogs very soon.  Take care of yourselves, hugs Annette xx
